Job Summary
A Residential Single-Family HVAC Start-Up/Warranty Technician is responsible for ensuring HVAC systems in newly constructed homes are properly installed, started up, tested, and operating correctly prior to homeowner move-in. This role includes performing system startups, verifying equipment operation and installation quality, troubleshooting HVAC issues, and completing warranty and service-related calls.
The technician will work closely with construction superintendents, builders, installers, and homeowners to identify and resolve HVAC-related issues and ensure systems meet company and manufacturer standards. The ideal candidate has strong HVAC troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple homes and service requests in a fast-paced residential construction environment.

What You'll Do
  • Perform HVAC system startups in newly constructed single-family homes
  • Inspect HVAC installations for proper workmanship, operation, and installation quality
  • Test heating, cooling, airflow, temperature, and system operation to ensure equipment is functioning properly before homeowner move-in
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve HVAC issues found during startup, quality control inspections, and warranty calls
  • Diagnose and repair warranty-related HVAC issues in occupied and unoccupied homes
  • Verify equipment, thermostats, ductwork, refrigerant, electrical connections, and other HVAC components are installed and operating correctly
  • Document startup results, warranty repairs, deficiencies, and completed work accurately
  • Communicate with management regarding issues, scheduling, and completed work
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with manufacturer specifications, applicable codes, company standards, and safety procedures
  • Maintain a clean and professional work environment while representing the company and maintaining positive relationships with builders and homeowners

What We're Looking For
2+ years of residential HVAC experience, preferably in new construction, startup, warranty, or service
EPA Universal Certification required
High level of accountability
Basic understanding of mechanical systems
Good verbal and written communication skills
Basic computing skills and the ability to use a computer, laptop, or tablet
ServiceTitan experience is preferred
Valid driver's license and able to pass a background check
