As a construction quality control manager, your job is to inspect a project before, during, and after construction to ensure compliance with all safety and quality specifications. To accomplish this, you develop and maintain a quality control (QC) plan, create documents and forms to track your findings, and supervise most construction work. You may also represent your company in any matters, legal or otherwise, related to quality. You also conduct audits on projects and paperwork, assist project managers with developing construction plans, evaluate and track noncompliance with safety plans, and perform other tasks to ensure an injury-free workplace. Construction quality control managers frequently visit hot, confined, or loud spaces, climb ladders, and lift equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
