Job description

Construction Project Superintendent
Job Summary
Fishbeck has an immediate full-time opening for a Construction Project Superintendent to join our Grand Rapids, Michigan office. The Construction Project Superintendent will support all aspects of assigned construction projects to help ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with established quality standards.
This position works closely with the Project Manager to coordinate and oversee onsite construction activities, maintain project schedules, and support communication between subcontractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders. The role also includes documenting project progress, assisting with site coordination, and helping maintain safe and efficient project operations. This position provides the opportunity to gain experience across a variety of construction projects while working in a collaborative project team environment.
Minimum Physical Requirements
This role requires working in an outdoor construction environment and traveling to project sites as needed. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods on project sites, including areas with uneven terrain. Must be able to drive a motor vehicle to reach project locations. Must be able to read printed materials and computer screens and communicate effectively through hearing and speech. Reasonable accommodations may be made for otherwise qualified individuals who require and request such accommodation.
Desired Education
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Desired Job Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a construction superintendent or assistant superintendent on commercial construction projects.
Knowledge of construction practices, procedures, and techniques, as well as applicable local, state, and federal building codes.
Experience coordinating with subcontractors, field inspectors, project managers, and construction crews.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel; experience with Microsoft Project preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with project teams and clients.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Safety certifications such as OSHA, First Aid, and CPR training are desirable.
