Job description

Job Description

We are looking for a proactive and technically capable Construction Project Manager to lead steel fabrication and metal building projects from planning through completion. This role is ideal for someone with construction experience who is ready to take ownership of work, operate with a high degree of self-sufficiency, and adapt to the multifaceted nature of the role. You will start by managing smaller scale projects and will grow into larger, more complex assignments as you demonstrate capability and leadership.

You will work closely with and report to our Senior Project Manager, coordinate with fabrication and field teams, manage schedules, and ensure project execution stays on track. Clear communication, strong organization, and a bias toward action are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage construction projects from kickoff through close-out
  • Work with and report to the Senior Project Manager on project progress, challenges, and priorities
  • Take ownership of smaller jobs and grow into larger project responsibilities over time
  • Review drawings, specs, and shop drawings to fully understand scope and technical requirements
  • Build and manage project schedules, monitor progress, and ensure milestones stay on track
  • Coordinate with fabrication, field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Track materials, deliveries, and long-lead items to avoid delays
  • Maintain daily and weekly reports, project logs, RFIs, change orders, and documentation
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance
  • Identify issues early and drive solutions to maintain momentum
  • Manage project budgets, cost tracking, and support invoicing processes
  • Communicate clearly with clients and internal leadership on status, risks, and next steps

Qualifications

  • Strong technical understanding and ability to read drawings, specs, and shop drawings
  • Self-sufficient mindset with the ability to learn quickly and solve problems independently
  • Clear, concise communicator who follows up and keeps projects organized
  • Two or more years of construction experience preferred (steel and PEMB experience a plus, not required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (not required)
  • Strong time-management skills and discipline in maintaining documentation and schedules
  • Comfortable using and learning software for scheduling, documentation, and communication
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks at once
  • Ability to work collaboratively with field crews, fabrication shop, and external partners
  • Strong follow-through and a sense of urgency

Work Environment and Travel
Regional travel to job sites is required. Overnight travel is very rare and most site visits allow you to return home the same day.
Why Rise

This role offers meaningful responsibility and real growth. You will take ownership of smaller projects to start, gain exposure to both fabrication and field operations, and expand into larger and more complex project scopes as you develop. Hard work, clear communication, and discipline are recognized and rewarded here.
