Job description

Construction Project Manager

The Construction Project Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing construction projects from planning through completion. This role manages schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and project communication to ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain detailed project schedules alongside the Superintendent and leadership, keeping all stakeholders informed.
  • Act as the main point of contact for written communication with clients, subcontractors, and design teams.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting while partnering with Accounting on billing, reporting, and cost tracking.
  • Lead project meetings and ensure clear communication across internal teams and external partners.
  • Oversee subcontractor bidding, negotiations, and awards, aligning cost, schedule, and capabilities.
  • Manage contracts, change orders, and project documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Track subcontractor performance, approve invoices, and help keep project finances on target.
  • Coordinate project meetings and maintain organized records and documentation in Procore.
  • Support safety efforts and maintain required certifications.
  • Provide regular project updates and guidance to ensure successful delivery from start to finish.
Essential Skills
  • 10+ years experience managing ground-up commercial construction projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or other related field.
  • Knowledge of general construction techniques for sitework, commercial office, light industrial and retail projects.
  • Prior experience using scheduling software to create a project schedule.
  • Proficiency in various computer software applications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in commercial office, light industrial, and retail projects.

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with the possibility of weekend work depending on project needs. The position involves splitting time between the office and the field, with the majority of time spent in the office. Projects are primarily located in Metro Detroit, with additional work in Massachusetts and Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.70 - $72.12/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
