POSITION SUMMARY
Vertiv is seeking an experienced Site Manager to work with the Vertiv Program/Project team to oversee site work for key accounts. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, experience working in the construction industry and be able to take the initiative to drive activities with limited supervision. The Site Manager provides leadership and serves as the liaison between project team members to promote the interest of both the business and clients in all matters, as well as demonstrate the characteristics of a mid-level leader. The Site Manager is the primary point of contact for Vertiv at site.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain adherence to Vertiv's standards of safety; ensuring that required documents are filed.
  • Conduct and/or participate in project meetings, while driving to project milestones and contributing information for Vertiv Program Manager reporting.
  • Interfacing with the Client, Client's General Contractor, supporting trades, and consultants at all project stages.
  • Work with the project team coordinating project scheduling; ensure project quality control and coordinate project logistics.
  • Work with the Clients General Contractor and Vertiv with the delivery of projects and be responsible for the inspection and documentation of shipped integrated solutions to site.
  • Collaborate with the Client's site operations and Client's General Contractor, supporting trades, and consultants throughout the life of the project.
  • Track, analyze, and report information appropriately to allow the Vertiv project team to manage their projects and evaluate weekly reports.
  • Perform coordination of cross-functional departments to identify project issues, monitor action items, and work with the project manager to ensure resolution.
  • Ensure receipt of all close-out documents until completion, including warranties, as-builts, Operation and Maintenance manuals and so on.
  • Work with Client's site operations and Client's General Contractor, supporting trades, and consultants to ensure punch list, substantial completion and final completion process is completed through the onsite construction management team.
  • Work and coordinate with the Vertiv equipment technicians and third-party equipment technicians to assist the Client and Clients General Contractor and Commissioning Consultant during the Level 2 and 3 Equipment startup, L4 Functional Testing and L5 Integrated Systems Testing.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience in a project management, construction management role with the ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to master sector/project-specific software systems including but not limited to: Microsoft Office suite (ex. Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam
  • Mastery of reading construction drawings; tasks including reading, interpreting, and updating construction project-related drawings
  • Ability to organize necessary resources, including people, tools, and time to meet tight deadlines and achieve desired results
  • Knowledge of current market conditions including pricing conventions and trends

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (preferred).
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on data centers.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems, including design principles, installation methods, and industry best practices. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience collaborating with MEP subcontractors and vendors.
  • Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and standards relevant to data center construction.
  • PMP certification or equivalent is a plus

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma required, four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred
  • In lieu of a degree, additional work experience is acceptable
  • 5+ years' experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor. Experience working on mission critical datacenter projects a plus.
