Job description

Project Manager – Commercial Construction

We are a General Contractor specializing in building and renovating schools and churches in the DFW area. At CZ we believe the Project Manager role is instrumental in our success. As an integral part of the CZ team, the Project Manager is expected to manage all aspects of the construction process in order to ensure timely, efficient & successful implementations.

The Project Manager ensures or facilitates team communication and execution of projects to completion. Requirements include excellent communications, team building skills and project management best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of the construction project including developing and maintaining client relationships, managing project schedules, budgets and profitability from project inception through completion.
  • Collaborates with the Field Superintendent to develop, monitor, and update project schedules to ensure achievement of project milestones.
  • Coordinates project meetings internally and with clients,
  • Monitors and analyzes construction schedules,
  • Manages contract documents.
  • Problem solving and manage resolution for compliance,
  • Manages projects progress, company labor cost, subcontractors, suppliers, and archive project related activities documents,
  • Conducts site visits for Quality Control from start to finish,
  • Ensures that contract requirements met within budget and customer expectations.
  • Communicates daily with owners, project executives and subcontractors to ensure forward progress is achieved.
  • Enforces safety protocols to ensure company and owner safety requirements are met or exceeded.
  • Maintains appropriate project documentation (change order management, RFIs, submittals, etc.)

Requirements

  • 2 years experience as a PM on K-12 projects.
  • At least 3 years total PM experience for a commercial contractor.
  • 15 years construction experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in construction, engineering or equivalent highly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and excellent job costing/budgeting ability, and estimating capability for change orders
  • Knowledge of construction best practices, and good interpersonal skills
  • OSHA certified
