Job description

CAMS Renewable Services LLC is hiring a Battery Storage System (BESS) Technician with knowledge of electrical systems, sub-station maintenance, and grid scale battery energy storage system (BESS) space. Our BOP Technician will be responsible for performing substation preventative maintenance, troubleshooting HV systems, and preparing and submitting quality reports on site conditions in the Ft Stockton, TX area. Must have an excellent work ethic, good communication and documentation skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safety First Mindset:Perform all work in a safe mannerandin compliance with company safety policies.
  • Site Management (Roads, Signage, Vegetation, etc.)
  • Managing the inspections, records, outages(planned and unplanned).
  • Monthly Reporting.
  • On-Site Support duringassociated siteBESS Construction & Commissioning.
  • Substation and Medium Voltage Equipment Inspections.
  • Perform a variety of other high voltage electrical work including managing and executing outages to support construction activities on the base. Occasionallyparticipatein thecorrective maintenance ofAC distribution andBESS systems/components,as directed by supervisor with minimal supervision.
  • Receive, execute and complete daily work orders in a timely fashion, planning each workday carefully to achieve all objectives within a normal 8-hour work period and without incurring overtime; a workload manager will provide background information about any anomalies or unusual circumstances pertaining to each work order, and they will also inspect the completed work daily to ensure proper quality.
  • Participate in special projects such as pre-commissioning/checkout of new substations, stage additions, or substation inspections, and commissioning preparation.
  • Mustcomply withsafe clearance procedures and all related safety rules and regulations; must consistently and properlyalways wear correct High Voltage Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)whenrequiredfor safework.
  • Participate diplomatically in meetingswithregulatory inspectors, and representatives of other companies.
  • Perform all work in a safe manner in compliance with company safety policy.
  • Responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenanceofcomponents.
  • Perform electrical testing using appropriatePPE andprocedures.
  • Preparereports,if needed tocomply withdeliverables in O&M contracts.
  • Help in all areas of preventative and corrective maintenance as directed by supervisor with minimal supervision.
  • Attendingtraining sessions onequipmentprovided by the manufacturer and approved by management.
  • In the performance of duties, use equipment and resourcesin accordance withinstructions provided by the company.
  • Maintains adherence to Company policies, quality, environmental health and safety policies and good housekeeping practices.
