Job Title: Construction Project Manager

Job Description

This role seeks a construction project manager with approximately 4–6 years of experience to support an expanding project management team as it bids and delivers a growing portfolio of commercial construction work. The position focuses on assisting senior project managers while independently managing smaller projects, ensuring that all assignments are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with contract, quality, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support project managers in all phases of commercial construction projects, from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Assist with project planning, including developing schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and scope of work.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and other project stakeholders to maintain smooth project execution.
  • Manage and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and all related project documentation.
  • Monitor and track project costs, labor, and schedules to help ensure projects remain on budget and on schedule.
  • Participate in project meetings with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors, providing updates and resolving issues.
  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and project requirements to confirm alignment with project goals and standards.
  • Assist with monthly cost reporting, forecasting, and financial tracking to support accurate project financial management.
  • Monitor construction progress in the field and proactively identify, communicate, and help resolve project issues.
  • Support field teams and superintendents in maintaining quality, safety, and production goals throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Independently manage smaller commercial construction projects while supporting larger, more complex projects under senior leadership.
  • Ensure all work complies with company standards, contract documents, and applicable safety requirements.
  • Contribute to pre-construction activities, including estimating, budgeting, scheduling, scope development, and coordination with design teams during the planning phase.
  • Support design-build efforts, particularly for laboratory and clean room projects, by coordinating with design teams and technical consultants.

Essential Skills

  • Approximately 4–5 years of commercial construction project management or assistant project management experience.
  • Experience supporting commercial construction projects ranging from approximately $20,000 to $7,000,000 in value.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, and sequencing.
  • Knowledge of contracts, submittals, RFIs, change orders, budgeting, and scheduling practices.
  • Experience working closely with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar platforms.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information to diverse project stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage documentation, schedules, and multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate issues and develop practical solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid pre-construction experience, including estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and scope development.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with design teams during the planning and design phases.
  • Experience with commercial construction project management, including change order management and estimation.
  • Experience with design-build project delivery.
  • Experience working on clean room or other technical and controlled-environment facilities is highly beneficial.

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with ground-up and renovation commercial construction projects.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience with healthcare, education, industrial, municipal, multifamily, or general commercial construction projects.
  • Experience with laboratory and clean room projects or other technical and controlled-environment facilities.
  • Familiarity with estimation practices for commercial construction projects.
  • Ability to contribute to design-build projects through collaboration with design and engineering teams.

Pay and Benefits
