About Us We are a growing concrete construction company based in Nashville, TN, focused on delivering high‑quality work, maintaining strong compliance, and supporting our field teams with accurate, timely payroll operations. We’re looking for a detail‑driven Payroll Administrator who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and understands the unique demands of construction payroll. Position Overview The Payroll Administrator is responsible for processing weekly payroll for field and office employees, maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and supporting HR/accounting with reporting and audits. This role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to navigate construction‑specific payroll requirements. Key Responsibilities
  • Process weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including job‑costing and labor allocation
  • Maintain employee records, pay rates, deductions, garnishments, PTO, and benefits
  • Review and reconcile timecards, including overtime, shift differentials, and multi‑job coding
  • Ensure compliance with federal/state wage laws, prevailing wage, certified payroll, and union requirements (if applicable)
  • Prepare payroll reports for accounting, job costing, and management review
  • Support onboarding/offboarding with payroll setup and final pay
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and accuracy
  • Assist with audits (workers’ comp, financial, state compliance)
  • Coordinate with HR and accounting on benefits, deductions, and policy updates
Qualifications
  • 2–4 years of payroll experience; construction payroll strongly preferred
  • Experience with Deltek Computerease, Deltek Payroll, Gusto,QuickBooksADPPaychex, or similar payroll systems
  • Strong understanding of wage laws, overtime rules, and multi‑state payroll (preferred)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
