Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY: Train and support the development of heavy equipment operators for continued safety, productivity, and quality in the field

*This individual's home base will be in the Cincinnati, Ohio area supporting a major construction project. *

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide training to new operators to develop and improve their equipment operation skills and add value to their trade.
  • Work with experienced operators to keep their equipment operating skills and training up-to-date and maintain their awareness of new techniques and methods
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with all operators, mechanics, superintendents, and management to facilitate effective communication and coordination within the field operations.
  • Provide management recommendations regarding the placement of operators to ensure best fit to benefit the company and the operator
  • Inspect equipment to ensure proper maintenance and safety procedures.
  • Ensure the operator understands proper equipment processes and bring any deficiencies or concerns to the attention of the proper supervisor.
  • Monitor equipment used to ensure it is operated within its rated capacities
  • Maintain a good working relationship with Local Unions, trade schools, and skilled craft community to find and hire the most qualified operator candidates for Kokosing.
  • Communicate needed repairs to ensure repair in a timely manner.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum high school diploma with at least five years' experience as an operator in construction industry.
  • Amember in good standing of the Operating Engineers Union.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Skilled in dirt moving equipment and techniques
  • Knowledgeable in both MSHA and OSHA regulations and guidelines

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid driver's license and good driving record

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • 90% of job duties are performed in the field environment.
  • About 80% of the time is spentobservingand mentoringoperators, 20% of the time is spent working withmanagement, office associates,educatorsand vendors.
