We're seeking a motivated Staff Geologist/Engineer to join our team and play a key role in supporting our Project Managers, Engineers, and Geologists on a variety of exciting field and construction projects.

In this hands-on role, you'll assist with site investigations, construction observations, drilling operations, borings, test excavations, field data collection, and technical report preparation. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys getting out in the field, building technical expertise, and contributing to projects from investigation through completion.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working outdoors and should be prepared to spend up to 10 hours per day in the field. Responsibilities may include operating a nuclear density gauge and working with moisture-density testing equipment as part of quality assurance and construction monitoring activities.

Responsibilities
  • The position includes performing geotechnical field exploration.
  • Writing daily field reports and maintaining exploration logs.
  • Performing laboratory testing.
  • Candidates will be part of a team that conducts geotechnical analysis and prepares engineering reports and project deliverables.
  • The team observes construction to ensure compliance with design documents.
  • This role is 80-90% field exploration/investigations and 10-20% technical review, writing, and reporting. 
Qualifications
  • BS in Geology or Engineering; a Master's in Geotechnical Engineering is a plus
  • 0-3 years of experience 
  • Must be able to work in all weather climates, as this role is largely in the field
  • GIT is a plus
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and pull up to 50lbs of equipment. 
  • Must have a valid driver's license 
  • Passion for learning, flexible to work an ever-changing schedule per construction requests. 

The pay range for this position in Oregon is $30.00 -$35.00 per hour. Base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
