Job description

Field Construction Manager San Diego, CA (Onsite) $52.00-$54.00/hr Contract through September with potential for temp-to-hire depending on workload/projects. Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 4:00 pm (On-site) System One is seeking a Field Construction Manager for an onsite opportunity supporting facilities operations and construction activities at military installations in the San Diego area. This role is responsible for overseeing facility maintenance operations, managing small construction and tenant improvement projects, coordinating contractors, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily facility operations, maintenance activities, and repair projects
  • Manage contractors performing routine and emergency repair work
  • Attend and participate in government and project meetings
  • Provide daily project status updates to leadership
  • Develop project estimates and Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) budgets
  • Collaborate with project teams to establish schedules, budgets, and project objectives
  • Monitor project progress and ensure milestones are achieved
  • Conduct routine site visits at assigned facilities
  • Prepare monthly performance and project reports
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and construction schedules
  • Resolve field issues and maintain quality, safety, and compliance standards
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable federal and military requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of construction, facilities, engineering, or project management experience
  • Experience managing facility maintenance, repair, or construction projects
  • Working knowledge of federal, military, or government facility environments preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, technical writing, and organizational skills
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other project management software
