Position Scope

The Construction Manager is responsible for providing overall leadership, direction, and oversight of construction activities for nationwide mission-critical infrastructure projects. This role will manage project execution from planning and mobilization through completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with PACK Power’s quality standards and contractual requirements.

Location & Travel:  Onsite in Edgerton, Kansas. This is a travel-based position. In addition to your base salary, you’ll receive a daily per diem to assist with living expenses while on assignment.. A company vehicle and fuel card will also be provided.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and oversight of construction activities within the contracted Scope of Work.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage construction activities from project mobilization through completion.
  • Ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, schedules, and contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Foremen, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure successful project execution.
  • Monitor project performance, productivity, schedule, quality, and cost metrics.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop solutions to mitigate impacts to schedule, budget, safety, and quality.
  • Review project documentation and ensure required reporting is completed accurately and on time.
  • Manage equipment, materials, labor, and other project resources to maximize efficiency and profitability.
  • Lead, coach, and develop field personnel to promote a high-performing team environment.
  • Promote and enforce PACK Power’s safety and quality standards.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and development of construction personnel.
  • Provide clear direction and expectations to field teams and hold team members accountable for performance.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients through consistent communication, professionalism, integrity, and follow-through.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for construction-related matters in coordination with the Project Management team.
  • Maintain frequent communication with internal project teams to ensure alignment on project goals, schedules, resources, and deliverables.
  • Support Business Development, Estimating, and Preconstruction activities as needed.
  • Assist in developing comprehensive solutions for complex construction challenges and client needs.

Education and Work Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive construction experience, preferably within data centers, water/wastewater, natural gas, industrial, electrical, or other mission-critical environments.
  • Previous experience leading construction teams and managing field operations.
  • Demonstrated experience with construction scheduling, cost management, estimating, and project execution.
  • Experience working directly with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and project management teams.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, project documentation, safety requirements, and quality standards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and hold teams accountable.

  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, cost forecasting, productivity, and resource management.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, safety requirements, and technical documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients, employees, subcontractors, and company leadership.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Excel, project management/documentation platforms such as Procore or HCSS, and scheduling software such as MS Project or Primavera.
  • Ability to analyze project data, monitor performance metrics, and make informed decisions based on project information.
