Job description

Montante Construction is looking for an experienced project superintendent to join its growing team of construction professionals! The project superintendent will play a central role in our commercial construction process and will be responsible for collaborating with both development and construction partners. In conjunction with the project manager, this person will be expected to successfully deliver construction projects from start to finish and will be responsible for ensuring they are done safely, on schedule, and within budget.
The Project Superintendent is responsible for the following:
  • Work with the pre-construction team to understand project requirements & budgets.
  • Assist the pre-construction team with the development of the overall project schedule.
  • Develop site specific safety procedures & clearly communicate them.
  • On a daily basis, ensure that project safety measures are maintained at all times.
  • Maintain & complete all project paperwork including daily reports and as-built documentation.
  • In line with the overall project schedule, complete two-week look-ahead schedules.
  • Coordinate work between project subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Inspect and document installed work for compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure all materials, supplies, and equipment are on site and ready for use as needed
  • Accompany owner representatives, architects, engineers and inspectors during site reviews and fully address any questions and comments.
  • With the project manager, regularly review estimated budgets versus actual costs to confirm a project's profitability.

Experience desired:
  • A minimum of 7-years working experience in the NY construction industry.
  • Procore Construction Management software experience.
  • Previous experience in a lead role on construction projects required.
  • OSHA 30-Hour safety training or wiliness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Computer experience including MS Office and project management software.
  • Detailed understanding and awareness of the NY construction industry.
  • Robust knowledge about the processes that go into planning, designing and executing a construction project.
  • Excellent adaptable, professional communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound knowledge about safety standards and requirements.
  • Basic understanding of construction insurance and accounting.
  • Strong relationships with local architects, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • A willingness to trouble-shoot and creatively solve problems.
  • The ability to lead and/or participate as a team member as situations dictate.
  • The ability to travel to job sites in NY
    • The opening project assignment will be located in Big Flatts, NY near Elmira, NY, Horseheads, NY and Corning, NY.
  • Highly Preferred:
    • Experience with warehouse, logistics and last mile facilities.
    • Experience with site development on projects of 30+ acres.

Compensation Package:
  • Competitive base wages starting between $100,000 and $125,000 per year, with annual review and bonus opportunity
