Job description

The Claims Manager supports TCR’s risk management function through the management of insurance claims and related litigation across development, construction, and operational activities. This role serves as a key liaison among business leaders, Legal, insurers, brokers, third-party administrators, and outside counsel to ensuretimelyclaim resolution, effective litigation management, and proactive risk mitigation. The position combines deep technical claimsexpertisewith strong relationship management and communication skills.This role will report to the Director of Risk Management and will be based in our Dallas office.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage the full lifecycle of general liability, property, construction, and other insurance claims arising from the company’s multifamily development, construction, and operational activities
  • Coordinate and oversee claims investigations, coverage analysis, reserving discussions, and claim resolution strategies
  • Partner closely with Legal, insurers, brokers, third-party administrators, and outside counsel on litigated matters
  • Monitor and manage commercial claims litigation, including strategy discussions, reporting, document preservation, discovery support, and settlement coordination
  • Identifytrends in claim activity and recommend risk mitigation and loss prevention initiatives
  • Support business leaders throughout the claims process and provide guidance on incident reporting and documentation requirements
  • Analyze claim data and develop reports for senior leadershipregardingclaim trends, exposure, and financial impacts
  • Assistwith insurance renewals by providing claims history, loss runs, and exposure information
  • Support insurance recovery efforts and complex coveragematters
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders while deliveringa high levelof responsiveness and customer service
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Legal Studies, or a related field
  • 5+ years of commercial claims management experience, preferably within real estate, construction, insurance, or a related industry
  • Significant experiencemanaging commercial claims litigation and coordinating with outside counsel
  • Strong understanding of insurance coverage, claims handling practices, and litigation processes
  • Experience working with carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to manage sensitive matters with professionalism and sound judgment
