Job description

Job Summary

As a VDC Manager, you will be implementing virtual design and construction technology (BIM) to lead in the construction, coordination and management process. This position will give you the chance to work on some of the top construction projects in the New York metro area. If you have a degree in architecture/ design, construction management or engineering as well as possess strong interpersonal skills, technical problem-solving abilities, and enjoy working within a fast-paced environment apply for this career opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specs, scope of work, project schedule
  • Tailor an MEP coordination schedule & BIM execution plan to match project needs
  • Managing FTP site - organizing folders, managing models and backgrounds, weekly uploads
  • Lead project kick-off with all trades to set structure for coordination
  • Create a Revit central model with linked design models to export backgrounds from
  • Model gaps between drawings and scope of work, as well as any additional items beneficial to the coordination process (i.e. soffits, ceilings details, lights...etc.)
  • Review drawings before 100% CD's & mark up shop drawings
  • Create RFIs throughout shop review and coordination
  • Perform, understand and utilize laser scan data for use in projects (.rcp, .rcs)
  • Lead MEP coordination meetings & managing trades
  • Lead collaboration problem-solving sessions with architects and engineers to resolve issues
  • Clash detection & issue clash reports
  • Produce weekly VDC reports, meeting minutes, schedule updates
  • Aid in business development presentations (graphics/ logistics/ slides/ animations)
  • Assist/help new VDC hires with all processes

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture/ design, Engineering, Construction Management or similar.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD
  • Ability to work with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator
  • Competence in Bluebeam & Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Projects)
  • Experience in preparation of 3D visualizations
  • Understanding of construction document sets
  • Ability to travel to project sites.
  • Exceptional communications skills

Computer Systems

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Procore (preferred but not required), and Timberline (preferred but not required), Revis, Navisworks, AutoCAD

Salary Information

  • To the extent this role is performed in New York City, the annual salary range is $120,000 - $160,000.
