Position Details:

  • Department: Exterior Services
  • Reports to: Irrigation and Make Ready Manager
  • Status: Full Time / Hourly / Non-Exempt

Job Summary:
SimplyHome is seeking a Grounds and Exterior Services Technician who is professional, organized, and focused on delivering 5-Star customer experience. This position will inspect, conduct handyman work, pressure wash, and conduct landscaping on single family residential homes. Basic handyman knowledge is preferred, and knowledge of irrigation systems is a plus. Will provide Irrigation training in order to obtain a license.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform Landscaping tasks that are required on Make Ready rentals. Pulling weeds and mulching, trimming vegetation, and planting bushes or trees.
  • Ability to operate and handle a power washer and clean dirt and grim from flatwork or siding.
  • Removing trash and debris from inside or outside the home during Make Readies.
  • Making minor repairs to fences in gates.
  • Potential to make irrigation repairs.
  • Available for on-call service, weekends and evenings as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to interact with residents and colleagues tactfully and professionally.
  • Ability to climb up and down stairs several times each day and lift 50 pounds with ease.
  • Self-starter that can effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • High level of professionalism and the ability to work with and manage a team.
  • Ability to drive with a trailer preferred.
  • Must always possess a valid driver's license and valid vehicle insurance with no major traffic violations, suspensions, or DUIs in the last 5 years.
  • Friendly and welcoming demeanor with the ability to maintain professionalism and a strong customer-focused demeanor with demanding clientele.
  • Excellent time management skills, detail-orientation and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, along with advanced conflict resolution skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills and proficient in English. Must be able to articulate needs and convey information verbally and in writing effectively with employees, customers, supervisors, and co-workers throughout the organization.
  • Knowledge of management methods and sound employee relations techniques with an ability to connect to staff, troubleshoot problems and help teams collaborate, as necessary.

Education and Experience:
