Job description

SUMMARY  

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Project Manager II to lead projects with professionalism, flexibility, and resourcefulness in a dynamic environment. This role involves managing project quality, timeliness, and safety, mentoring the project team, and developing strong customer relationships through excellent service and communication skills. 

First assignment will be starting in New Mexico and then you have the option to continue to travel or work in Denver.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Prepare proposals, assist in pursuit presentations, and contract negotiations 
  • Manage design engineering projects from concept to completion 
  • Maintain schedule and budget through design completion 
  • Develop and maintain project financial projections 
  • Report on progress, cost, schedule metrics, and any issues requiring support 
  • Determine and allocate project estimate into financial system 
  • Manage subcontracts and suppliers, oversee budget and selections 
  • Function as main point of contact with clients and on-site representatives 
  • Provide frequent interactions to build positive relationships and future opportunities 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Electrical or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience  
  • Minimum seven years of construction management or related experience with large projects 
  • Proven ability to fulfill all responsibilities for complex projects 
  • Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks 
  • Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices 
  • Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level 
  • Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills 
  • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies  
  • Current driver's license 
  • Travel

The base pay range for this role is $132,100 - $198,200 (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%). 

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.  This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan. 

Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.  

Our postings are typically open a minimum of 5 days and an average of 44 days.
