Are you passionate about helping customers find the right solutions for their projects? Do you enjoy a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same? We're looking for a customer-focused Inside Counter Sales to join our team at our Coos Bay, OR Yard and play a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience.
In this role, you'll combine product knowledge, sales expertise, and outstanding customer service to help customers successfully complete projects ranging from decks and fences to sheds and stairs. If you thrive on building relationships, solving problems, and supporting customers from start to finish, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
Deliver Exceptional Customer Service
  • Assist retail customers in person, by phone, and via email.
  • Answer questions regarding products, pricing, availability, and returns/exchanges.
  • Guide customers in selecting the best products and solutions for their needs.
  • Build positive customer relationships through professional and responsive service.

Drive Sales Success
  • Actively promote and sell company products, services, and related solutions.
  • Prepare material estimates and project quotes for smaller construction projects, including decks, fences, stairs, and sheds.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales through product recommendations and add-on offerings.
  • Develop a strong understanding of company products, pricing, and promotions.

Process Orders and Coordinate Deliveries
  • Enter customer orders accurately into company systems.
  • Schedule and coordinate product deliveries to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor order details and follow through on customer requests.

Support Yard and Store Operations
  • Assist with inventory management, stocking, merchandising, and signage.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Participate in customer workshops and educational events.
  • Resolve routine customer concerns and escalate more complex issues when needed.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Six (6) months of sales, retail, customer service, or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in building materials, home improvement, construction, or related industries.
  • Knowledge of estimating materials for residential projects.
  • Experience operating or willingness to learn material handling equipment.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Work in both office and outdoor yard environments with varying weather conditions.
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Frequently bend, kneel, reach, and perform physical tasks.
  • May occasionally operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand tools, and other equipment following training and safety guidelines.
