BORJA ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION has an exciting opportunity for a Construction Project Manager / Estimator to manage federal government projects in and around state of CA, NV, AZ, HI. This opportunity is ideal for the right team player who seeks long term employment with a company who takes care of their own.
Job Description:

Position will support primarily Department of Defense (DoD) clients on federal facilities. This is a great opportunity for the ideal candidate who has proven ability, integrity and willing to be always a team player. Position is responsible for managing Vertical Construction Projects from $4M to $15M in value size. Represent BORJA ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION with integrity and assist in building a bridge of trust between the client and BORJA. Responsible for managing MULTIPLE projects from estimate, buyout, start up, progress and completion in every detail. This includes: Business Development, maintain client relationships, subcontractor and vendor relations, budgets, estimating, cost control, schedules, subcontractors, changes, technical/contractual compliance, safety, invoicing, etc.; provide meaningful insight into any and all projects assigned. Control project performance from administration, production, safety and quality. This position requires the ability and willingness to work and communicate well with others professionally and in the best interest of our clients and the company.
Qualifications:

Federal, State, and local government project experience serving as lead project manager on $1M to $15M construction projects. Design-build experience (A Plus). BA or BS in engineering or Construction Management related technical degree related to construction.
  • 5-8 years construction project management experience on FEDERAL CONSTRUCTIONS PROJECTS.
  • Proven Experienced in USACE & NAVFAC project protocols.
  • Must have proven on-site construction experience.
  • Must have Design-Build experience. 
  • Must have a working knowledge of architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical civil and design practices and concepts, excellent working knowledge of current building codes and regulations.
  • Must be capable and have the proven ability to effectively direct and coordinate field construction staff and subcontractors.
  • Must be organized, diligent and tenacious in executing tasks.
  • Must be able to multi-task, delegate and follow up relentlessly.
  • Must be able to prepare subcontract scopes of work and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Must be able to prepare and submit budget estimates and progress cost tracking reports.
  • Coordinate and communicate regularly with corporate office and officers.
  • Must have an understanding of USACE EM-385-1-1 Safety and Health Manual.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel and Word, management software programs, including Primavera P6, RMS, eCMS, Bluebeam, RSMeans
  • Must have clean history and the ability to pass a background check to access different military facilities. 
  • Review project plans, requirements, and specifications
  • Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and material pricing
  • Propose value engineering options to reduce project cost
  • Coordinate subcontract solicitations and job walks
  • Determine costs of labor, material, and equipment
  • Push the evolution of the construction documents as necessary
  • Prepare conceptual estimates
  • Meet and maintain bidding and work schedules
  • Submit requisitions for purchase of materials
  • Compare competitive trade bids
  • Some travel may be required.
