Job description

Job Description:

  • The QC Technician is responsible for the testing of aggregate to ensure adherence to federal, state, and/or customer specifications.
  • Assuring aggregates production process is within the specification guidelines.
  • This position works with aggregate plant personnel, aggregate sales personnel, construction foreman, engineering and governmental agencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform aggregate sampling, testing, and analysis.
  • Responsible for keeping accurate records of testing results.
  • Responsible for daily cleaning, maintenance and upkeep of laboratory and laboratory supplies.
  • Complete governmental and customer reports for test results.
  • Communicate testing results to the plant, sales personnel, construction personnel, and government agencies.
  • Investigate customer complaints regarding discrepancies between test results and aggregate received.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of aggregate quality control data.
  • Experience with aggregate lab equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of aggregate production process and stockpiling practices.
  • Possess good mathematical skills.
  • Must be capable of operating the assigned machine/equipment in a safe manner so as not to jeopardize their safety, the safety of others around him and all other related equipment.
  • Must complete ODOT Level 1 and Level 2 certification.

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting aggregate samples +/-50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand / walk +/-8 hours.
  • Exposure to high heat, dust, and noise.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • ODOT Level 1 and ODOT Level 2 certified is preferred.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Microsoft Office applications.
