Job description

Position Summary

Coordinates the inside sales function, which includes handling sales calls and orders, expediting, returns, pricing and forwarding sales material.

This individual is responsible for fulfilling the requirements set forth by ABC?s Code of Business Conduct Policy

Essential Functions

  1. Processes and expedites all orders, including customer and stocking orders.
  2. Prepares price quotes for customers
  3. Coordinates sales support for manufacturers representatives and outside salespeople.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handles in-coming sales calls and orders.
  • Performs order entry, initiates credit memos and RGA?s on complaints.
  • Coordinates customer requests and expedites order processing.
  • Answers technical questions and inquiries on pricing.
  • Responds to requests for literature, samples, specs and other related general sales materials.
  • Issues credit applications to all new customers.
  • Performs cost analysis.
  • Maintains quote logs, sales leads, up-dates and follow-up on quotes as needed.
  • Audits Sales Orders
  • Matches purchase confirmations to acknowledgments.
  • Works on freight costs with outbound freight clerk for orders.
  • Works with manufacturing on expediting orders.
  • Cross-trains in other areas as deemed appropriate.
  • Recommends consignment stock levels and monitors inventory levels.
  • Executes further tasks as requested by Management.

Educational Requirements/Work Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates degree in Business, Marketing or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years related customer service experience required.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of all product lines and newly developed product applications and performance capabilities.
  • Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures and systems.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications.
  • Knowledge of inside sales practices.
  • Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic to make calculations, balance and reconcile figures and make changes accurately.
  • Skill in written and verbal communication.
  • Skill in gathering and reporting information.
  • Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Ability to review and edit reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to work effectively with personnel and the public.
  • Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks.

Equipment utilized includes calculator, computer, printer, copier, telephone and fax machine.
