Description Job Title: Buyer Clerk Reports To: Buyer SUMMARY Assists the Buyer by compiling and maintaining records of business transactions and office activities of establishment by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Maintain open order report daily • Consignment releases if needed for production • Keep track of consignment orders are on schedule and delivered on time • Entering schedule into planning for MRP • Printing MRP and writing Requisitions according to demands of the MRP for Raw materials and packaging materials. • Enter purchase orders into ROSS system. Communicate via email or fax orders to vendors.

• Make sure copies of purchase order, certificates and other information are given to required departments. • Confers with vendors to obtain pricing, delivery dates, and product codes for purchase orders. • Assist department with keeping COC, COA, hub zone, small business, and other items current.

These items are required for audits. • Assist department with making sure specifications are on hand and up to date for all materials. • Assist with the vendor evaluations.

These evaluations are done twice a year. • Meet with Contacts and or Vendors with discrepancies with delivery dates, quality issues, pricing, pack size/weights, and other issues. • Interfaces with all departments to resolve problems and issues with purchased items.

(Invoicing, receiving issues, quality control) • Assists with transportation if vendors are unable to provide or meet required delivery dates. • Assist Marketing with research and pricing for new items. • Assist R & D with research of new product, samples, etc.

• Maintain filing. • Copies data and compiles records and reports. • Operates computer terminal to input and retrieve data.

• Operates office machines such as, adding machines and calculators, fax, machines, and duplicating machines. • Interfaces with all departments and resolves problems and issues with purchased items. • Assists Buyer in research for new products and pricing • Assists other departments when it is required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Must have good phone skills and interact well with others. Must have basic knowledge of current software packages PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
