Job Summary
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating and executing all functions related to the shipment and receipt of goods. This includes preparing shipping documents, inspecting shipments, maintaining accurate records, ensuring proper labeling and packaging, and supporting warehouse operations. • Check products for defects and accuracy.
• Handle incoming and outgoing shipments and verify items physically.
• Post outbound deliveries using designated software.
• Package items securely for shipment and ensure proper labeling.
• Verify serial and batch numbers against product records.
• Pull, pack, and ship finished goods and customer orders.
• Receive and inspect incoming shipments and verify accuracy.
• Report and replace defective items prior to shipment.
• Prepare invoices and delivery orders, and apply labels as needed.
• Record all transactions accurately in the company database.
• Ensure safe and timely loading of shipment vehicles.
• Operate forklifts to transport shipments to pallets and loading areas.
• Coordinate storage space for incoming shipments.
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
• Conduct cycle counting and participate in inventory procedures.
• Determine consignment methods using knowledge of routes and shipping procedures.
• Arrange carrier pickups and prepare shipping records and logs.
• Trace lost or missing shipments and maintain shipping documentation.
