JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading and executing complex IoT projects across the Ontario region within Blackstone Energy Services’ portfolio.   This role involves managing multiple initiatives simultaneously, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating design, vendor equipment, third-party licensing, installation, and subcontracting.

The Senior Project Manager ensures that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet financial performance targets, while maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

This position requires strong leadership in resource coordination, procurement, and compliance with safety and technical standards. The Senior Project Manager is accountable for the financial health of each project, including schedule of values development, billing, reestimating budgets, profitability tracking, and cash flow management.

Effective communication, documentation oversight, and client training are essential components of the role. A commitment to continuous learning is expected to maintain technical proficiency across a range of IT, IoT, BAS control systems and IoT solutions, positioning this role as a key contributor to both operational success and strategic growth.  

 

TYPICAL DUTIES:

 Project Management and Operations

  • Manage project forecasting, reporting and invoicing process to ensure profitability and positive cash flow.
  • Lead top priority large scale projects development and delivery to ensure our most complex client engagements achieve the best possible quality, customer satisfaction, and technical performance outcomes.
  • Mentor and support team members, and reports on their technical and leadership development.
  • Partner with Project Management Office to leverage project delivery, management and governance processes, tools and policies for consistent successful and high-quality project development, delivery, and performance.
  • Ensure assigned project resources are engaged through all phases from development, from initial site audits to design, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Ensure construction compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.


IoT Engineering

  • Collaborate with internal teams to support functional requirements development, design and implement innovative energy, systems integration and automation solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Partner with teams to optimize energy efficiency, energy performance and system sequences of operations to achieve maximum energy performance benefits.
  • Secure approvals for technical submittals and coordinate with manufacturers.


 Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and trades.
  • Lead stakeholder communications, including progress meetings, schedule updates, action, issue and risk log management and resolution.
  • Support business development efforts through cost estimation, and proposal development
  • Align project execution with broader organizational goals, initiatives, and values by regularly communicating with company-wide stakeholders.


Additional Duties:

  • Model and lead interdepartmental, interdivisional, and intercompany goals, directives, and initiatives as endorsed by the Corporation. Perform other related duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education:
    • Diploma in Industial Automation / Mechatonics/ Scada/ BAS / Instrumentation or Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience supporting, deploying and managing BAS, IoT, Industrial Automation or Master Systems Integration projects with a mix of new construction and retrofit projects.
    • Experience in healthcare, government, municipal and higher education environments is highly valued.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and financial acumen
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
    • Strong problem solving capabilities, with a focus on resolving complex technical challenges in dynamic environments.
    • Demonstrated hands on experience in deploying IoT solutions, Master Systems Integration (MSI), Building Automation Systems (BAS), and complex systems integration projects.
    • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects using structured project management
    • Strong foundational knowledge of networking principles, including OT Networks, cybersecurity, SCADA systems, BAS protocols.
    • Technically proficient in both IoT and IT domains, with a history of successful client-facing engagements and solution delivery

    • Project Management Professional (PMP)
    • Niagara N4 Technical Certification (Tridium)
    • Rest API, BACnet IP, Modbus MSTP/IP
