Job description

Environmental Health & Safety Manager ~ Industrial


The Environmental Health & Safety Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all plant employee training programs, including orientation, operational procedures, safety, quality, environmental, and maintenance training. Coordinate and implement safety initiatives, drive projects to improve workplace safety, manage corrective actions, and lead incident investigations to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.


Responsibilities


  • Develop and manage employee training programs, including orientation, operational safety, environmental compliance, quality, and maintenance.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate workplace safety and environmental risks.
  • Recommend, develop, and implement safety programs (e.g., LOTO, Hazard Communication, Emergency Response, Fall Protection, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation).
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections; report findings and drive corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations, manage Safety Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), and ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OSHA (1910 & 1926) and other applicable safety regulations to ensure full compliance.
  • Conduct and coordinate industrial hygiene testing and environmental compliance programs.
  • Manage annual Hearing Conservation Program and other required safety initiatives.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of safety training and recommend improvements to strengthen workplace safety culture.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
  • Experience in a Industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and safety compliance practices.
  • Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules as needed.
