Position Summary

Columbia Pain Management is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing team as a Conscious Sedation Nurse. This position plays a vital role in providing safe, high-quality patient care during outpatient interventional pain procedures. The ideal candidate is highly organized, clinically skilled, and committed to delivering exceptional patient experiences in a fast-paced private practice setting.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assess and prepare patients for procedures requiring moderate (conscious) sedation.
  • Administer and monitor conscious sedation medications under physician direction and in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Continuously monitor patient vital signs, airway status, and overall condition before, during, and after procedures.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.
  • Perform pre-procedure and post-procedure patient education.
  • Complete accurate and timely nursing documentation within the electronic medical record.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, medical assistants, and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and accreditation standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff education activities.
  • Assist with IV placement, medication administration, and recovery room monitoring.

Qualifications

Required

  • Current Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Current ACLS certification or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
  • Certification in conscious sedation (We will provide training option upon hire)
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and emergency response skills.
  • Excellent communication and patient education abilities.

Preferred

  • Previous experience with conscious sedation, procedural nursing, PACU, ICU, Emergency Department, Surgery Center, or Interventional Pain Management.
  • Experience starting IVs and managing procedural sedation patients.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records.
