Job description

Sr. Analyst – Asset Management

  Location:  Plano, TX

Description:

    • Must have bachelor’s in accounting and experience with SAP ERP.
    • 3+ years of experience with fixed asset accounting/lease accounting and 3-10 years of overall experience.
    • Must have Process improvement experience.
    • CPA and public accounting experience is a must have.
    • This role is currently an individual contributor position rather than a managerial or leadership role.
    • Only finance-based assets experience would NOT be considered.
    • Interview - 2 rounds, first round virtual MS Teams, 2nd second in person.
    • This role would be 100% Onsite M-F in Plano, TX.

 The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain accounting records pertaining to fixed assets, which includes ensuring compliance with GAAP when recording activities and adherence to the fixed asset capitalization policy.

    • These activities include asset data maintenance (releases, master data accuracy, depreciation, disposals, SAP Settlements, etc.), as well as financial close accuracy (journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, flux commentary to upper management for material variances.
    • Reporting to the Asset Management Manager, the person in this role will be responsible for ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance.
    • This role entails managing the acquisition, tracking, depreciation, and disposal of assets, while also conducting regular audits and reconciliations. This position often collaborates with finance, procurement, and operations teams.

 

  • Requirements:

What you’ll be doing:

    • Support the organization''s fixed asset accounting processes and procedures.
    • Maintain and update the fixed asset register.
    • Support various quarterly/annual asset confirmation activities.
    • Record and monitor asset acquisitions, transfers, and disposals.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and accounting standards.
    • Perform regular asset valuations and depreciation calculations.
    • Review and analyse fixed asset-related financial statements and reports.
    • Prepare and present detailed fixed asset reports for management and stakeholders.
    • Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to fixed assets.
    • Collaborate with departments to plan and budget for capital expenditures.
    • Coordinate with IT and administrative staff to ensure proper tagging and tracking of fixed assets.
    • Handle internal and external audit requests pertaining to fixed assets.
    • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to fixed asset management.
    • Develop and implement process improvements for fixed asset management systems.
    • Ensure timely and accurate recording of asset acquisition, capitalization, and depreciation.
    • Administer and manage lease accounting and leased asset records.
    • Maintain documentation and records related to fixed asset management policies and procedures.

 

Qualifications/ What you bring (Must Haves):

    • BS/BA in accounting, with 3-10 years of work experience in accounting.
    • Must have CPA and Public accounting experience.
    • Experience with SAP ERP system experience.
    • 3+ years of experience with fixed assets and/or lease accounting.
    • Strong Analytical skills with attention to detail and completeness.
    • Motivated and dependable self-started.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Solid time management skills, ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and function. independently in a fast-paced environment.
