Position Summary
The Senior Sales Manager, Conventions & Corporate Events is responsible for driving new business to the Lynnwood Event Center by securing regional and national conventions, association meetings, and corporate events. Through proactive prospecting, strategic relationship building, and disciplined pipeline management, this position plays a key role in increasing venue utilization, generating revenue, and expanding the Lynnwood Event Center's presence throughout the meetings and events industry.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, this position operates with a high level of independence and accountability. The successful candidate is a motivated business development professional who thrives on building lasting client relationships, identifying new opportunities, negotiating successful agreements, and delivering results.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Generate new convention, conference, association, and corporate event business through strategic prospecting and relationship development.
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline using CRM tools to accurately forecast opportunities and revenue.
  • Prepare proposals, respond to RFPs, negotiate contracts, and successfully close new business.
  • Develop partnerships with convention and visitors bureaus, destination marketing organizations, hotels, and community partners to increase the Lynnwood Event Center's visibility and market presence.
  • Represent the Lynnwood Event Center at industry conferences, trade shows, networking events, and client meetings.
  • Conduct professional site visits and facility tours that showcase the Lynnwood Event Center's capabilities and value.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless transition from sales through event execution while maintaining long-term client relationships.

Job Qualifications & Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
  • Five (5) or more years of convention center, hospitality, venue, hotel, or related sales experience.
  • Demonstrated success generating new business through proactive prospecting and relationship development.
  • Experience managing a CRM system and maintaining an active sales pipeline.
  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts and close complex sales opportunities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

These additional qualifications will help you stand out:
  • Experience selling conventions, conferences, or association meetings.
  • Knowledge of the Pacific Northwest meetings and events industry.
  • Experience working with hotels, tourism organizations, CVBs, or destination marketing organizations.
  • A passion for building relationships, creating opportunities, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
