Job description

Proof of the Pudding (POP) provides award-winning catering and provisions to conferences, meetings, exhibitions, conventions, and special events at the Douglasville Conference Center. Douglasville Conference Center offers a variety of event spaces for parties large and small. Featuring a 7,600 square food ballroom for up to 500 guests, 150 seat auditorium, numerous meeting rooms, and a gorgeous outdoor terrace, Proof of the Pudding is the exclusive catering partner for all events within the venue. From professional corporate conferences to upscale weddings, the POPStars at Douglasville Conference Center will host it all!

Join our reputable Douglasville Conference Center team as an Event Server! We are seeking knowledgeable, well-organized, and professional Event Servers to provide our customers with a first-class experience. Event Servers will provide Front of House support at events to the client and the POP team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the setting of tables completely according to diagram and/or sample table.

  • Assist in setting buffet stations which may include décor.

  • Serve and clear food and beverage quietly, professionally, and quickly, using proper serving and clearing techniques.

  • Keep work area clean, and coordinate actions with the banquet captain to ensure flawless customer service.

  • Managing time effectively.

  • Assist in managing inventory of equipment and with set up and breakdown of events.

  • Serve and clear food and beverage quietly, professionally, and quickly, using proper serving and clearing techniques.

  • Reporting to the Banquet Captain and performing any tasks assigned in order to execute a flawless event.

  • Maintain good grooming and personal hygiene.

Performs other related duties as required.

Education and/or Experience:

  • 1+ year in a banquet or Front of House experience

  • Experience in high volume catering is preferred.

Specialized Qualifications:

  • Excellent listening and communication skills

  • Renowned time management and organization skills

  • Strong Customer Service skills with the desire to go above and beyond a client’s needs.

  • The ability to work alone and as a team.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to learn and adapt quickly.

Work Environment 

This position will consist of event attendance, preparation, set up, and breakdown. This position work mostly out of and mainly stay within the Douglasville Conference Center but may travel to other venues within the region.

Adherence to Company Uniform Requirements outlined in the Associate Handbook, uniform requirements outlined in your orientation guidelines.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of being in one place and moving through an event space

  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items

  • Ability to perform physical tasks; such as but not limited to, lifting approx. 30 lbs.
