Position Overview:
The Condo Underwriter is responsible for reviewing documentation for all new and existing condominium and cooperative projects to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as the requirements of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA and VA.
This position primarily operates within Pacific Time zone working hours to support the West Coast region.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Ensure condominium and cooperative projects are underwritten accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain approved and declined condominium and cooperative projects lists and manage expiration dates.
  • Manage lender concentration.
  • Maintain condominium and cooperative projects documentation and requirements as dictated by the agencies and investors.
  • Retain and manage project files.
  • Ensure cooperatives meet Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines.
  • Ensure condominiums meet Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA/ VA guidelines.
  • Determine eligibility of a project (underwrite budget, financials, questionnaire, etc.).
  • Perform legal reviews of the projects (i.e. review by laws, offering plan, etc.).
  • Deliver excellent customer service to Sales and Operations staff.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • 5+ years' project review experience.
  • 5+ years' experience related to mortgage credit guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • 5 years' experience with FNMA/ Freddie/ FHA underwriting guidelines.
  • Experience with investor guidelines.
  • Knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and FHA/ VA condominium's websites and all regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
