Job Summary:

As the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for leading maintenance systems and team, overseeing the continuous improvement of the manufacturing processes and executing long term strategic plans to maximize production and packaging efficiency within our Monticello plant facilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, direct, and implement the activities of the Maintenance Department through the Maintenance Supervisor and team to ensure maximum efficiency while minimizing equipment downtime. Ensure Supervisors and team are trained and managed to obtain desired results.
  • Assistproduction supervisors with repair or replacement of items needed that may/will cause downtime.
  • Develop preventative and predictive maintenance plans for equipment to avoid unnecessary downtime.
  • Lead action teams to include contractors addressing maintenance issues within the plant.
  • Set direction and policy for the entire plant for all maintenance programs. Communicate direction tomaintenanceteam and hold them accountable for adherence to plant direction and policy.
  • Directly and indirectly managewithresponsibility for maintenance personnel. Ability to coach, mentor, and develop technicalteams.
  • Assist Safety Manager in complianceofenvironmental standards and plant safety.
  • Responsible foroperatingall plant maintenance operations within budgetary limitations. This includes overtime andmanpowerschedule, long and short term.
  • Lead and direct the continuous technical improvement of the facility, equipment, and production/IT systems in support of plant business goals.
  • Prepare, justify, and manageaccuratemaintenance and facilities budgets withappropriate accountinginformation.
  • Ensure adequate contractor / consultant personnel levels to achieve the highestvaluefacility and plant maintenance and local capital programs possible.
  • Work effectively with Corporate Engineering to deploy corporate technical business strategies and direction in concert with plant strategies and direction to achieve company business goals.
  • Ensure effective execution of projects;ensuresprogramobjectives, project budgets and schedules are met.
  • Accountable for compliance with all regulations including food safety, employee safety, quality policies andproceduresand HACCP initiatives. This also includes allergen and pest control guidelines.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Coach, train, develop maintenance team

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven experience in food,packaging,or pharmaceutical industries; preferable cheese manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of the following engineering conceptsincludingelectrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Effective computer skills with Microsoft Office, maintenancesystemsor SAP/ERP systems.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree(preferred)
  • High School Diploma(minimum)
  • 10+years of maintenance management experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Moderately strenuous work involving standing, walking with frequent bending, twisting,pushingand squatting; Repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs.
