As a Senior Project Manager, you are responsible for overseeing all phases of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring safety, quality, and client satisfaction. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate teams, manage budgets, and build lasting relationships with stakeholders. You will lead by example, driving operational excellence and delivering The Knutson Experience on every project. You will participate in and actively lead new and existing client project pursuits for Knutson.

The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • With a lead by example mindset: Motivate and lead effective teams to produce results while providing successful oversight and direction for project teams.
  • Be a leader in Knutson's Zero Incident safety culture to drive compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Effective relationship management with all stakeholders: Owners, Design Teams, Subcontractors, & Knutson employees.
  • Responsible for the overall pre-construction, construction, commissioning, and closeout phases of a project.
  • Develop and implement the overall construction schedule with the entire project team.
  • Collaborate with estimating and marketing departments during the preconstruction and pursuit phase of projects.
  • Assume responsibility and appropriately administer cost management for each project.
  • Accountable to management for monthly project team meeting (PTM) reporting and accuracy.
  • Schedule and conduct internal and external project meetings in coordination with the project teams.
  • Responsible for oversight of the procurement process by the project team.
  • Accountable to lead and manage project specific QA/QC plans.
  • Independently manage and lead the pursuit of a project with pursuit team and Business Development team.
  • Initiate, grow and utilize professional networks.
  • Actively participate in community and industry events and activities to build professional network and promote Knutson Construction.
  • Manage self-perform trades such as demolition, carpentry, concrete, and masonry scopes of work.
  • Review the performance of Operations employees working on assigned projects and collaborate with the Director of Operations, and General Manager regarding staffing developmental needs and evaluations.
  • Responsible for providing positive and constructive feedback on an ongoing basis to your Operations team members that are on your assigned projects.
  • Effectively lead project teams that deliver The Knutson Experience while complying with Knutson's standard operating procedures.
  • Participation and completion in scheduled and as-needed safety training, as determined by the company

Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience.
  • Industry Experience: 10 to 15 years of responsibility for the total execution of large healthcare construction projects
  • Experience in the management of and collaboration with Superintendents, Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Project Support staff.
  • Construction-related certifications and additional relevant training are highly desirable.
  • Prior experience in managing self-perform trade scopes is highly desirable.
