Job description

Entarian is seeking a highly experienced Training Developer with a strong background in instructional design focused on Communications Security (COMSEC) systems. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating training curricula, courseware, and hands-on exercises related to Type 1 cryptographic equipment, Key Management Infrastructure (KMI), Intermediary Applications (iApp), Over-the-Network Keying (OTNK), and secure communications procedures. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with vendors and key stakeholders, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to translate complex technical concepts—such as key loading, troubleshooting, and destruction procedures—into clear, effective training for military personnel. Additionally, the candidate will support training needs analysis, implementation planning, sustainment efforts, and validation/verification activities. This position requires regular interaction with government personnel to identify requirements, coordinate planning efforts, review deliverables, and resolve issues in a timely manner. The role is based in Augusta, GA, and requires an active DoD Secret clearance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive COMSEC training courses, lesson plans, and programs of instruction (POI) in accordance with government regulations.
  • Create realistic training scenarios for COMSEC equipment ( iApp, OTNK, KMI) for classroom and simulation environments.
  • Technical publication validation, verification, and Logistics Demonstration (LD) process development and support.
  • Collaborate with COMSEC Managers and technical personnel to gather content, ensuring all training material is accurate and reflects current Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs).
  • Determine the learning strategies required to meet the learning needs of the soldier.
  • Apply adult learning principles to design eLearning modules, job aids, and instructor-led materials that simplify complex technical procedures.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and evaluate training effectiveness through assessments to ensure compliance with NSA and DoD directives.

  • BA degree or 12-15 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with the Experiential Learning Model (ELM)
  • Experience developing TSPs for the US Armed Forces.
  • Extensive experience with Type 1 cryptographic devices, Key Management Infrastructure (), and loading devices.
  • Experience with COMSEC modernization initiatives (cryptographic modernization).
  • DoD 8570.1-M compliance (e.g., Security+).
  • Army Instructor Basic Instructor Course equivalent.
  • Prior experience as a COMSEC Custodian or Alternate Custodian.
  • Must be able to travel atleast 40% of the year.
