Job Description

This position is contingent on contract award.

This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS Government Services, Inc. and provide services outlined below:

International SOS Government Services, Inc. is looking for an individual who is an experienced Psychiatrist to diagnose, treat, and prevent mental health disorders through a combination of therapy, medication management, and comprehensive patient care. This role involves collaborating with patients to develop tailored treatment plans that address their psychological, emotional, and behavioral needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric services for Veterans enrolled for care in the Atlanta VA Healthcare System Outpatient Clinics.
  • Provide general psychiatric care to male and female adult Veterans which includes, but is not limited to, conducting diagnostic evaluations, psychiatric consultation, medication management, and individual psychotherapy.
  • Prescribe the appropriate psychotropic medications, provide general clinical management of patients, and request appropriate consultations with other medical disciplines.
  • Assess risk factors and develop a preliminary disposition plan, involving the Veteran and significant others.
  • Provide treatment for common diagnoses to include anxiety disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder, major depression, substance use disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, mental disorder related to traumatic brain injuries and other mood disorders.
  • Provides assessment of serious and complicated cases involving psychiatric illness, catastrophic medical conditions, dementia and other high‑risk diagnoses.
  • Exercise clinical judgment in the selection of or adaptation of standard and accepted clinical theories, techniques, developing new techniques and practices in treating patients.
  • Work collaboratively with other disciplines on the team in providing comprehensive care.
  • Establish professional working relationships with clinical service providers within the medical center and the Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC’s).
  • Provide telephone and curbside consultation and screening consults that are received for appropriateness prior to scheduling.
  • Provide direct clinical supervision of mid‑level providers, psychiatric advanced practice nurses or physician assistants and other staff as appropriate.
  • Provides telephone and telehealth assessments as needed.
  • Cooperate with, and participate in, medical duties or functions related to quality of care, peer review, and other performance improvement activities.

Qualifications Basic Requirements/Certifications
  • Current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • Must be certified in BLS, ACLS, or equivalency.
Education Required
  • Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association, Association of American Medical Colleges, Liaison Committee on Medical Education, Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
  • Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Psychiatry.
  • DEA license.
Physical Requirements
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 25 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
  • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.
Additional Information

Pay range: Min: $95hr Max: $150hr.
