Security Officer

Atlanta International School (AIS) offers the full International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum to all students, from 3K through grade 12. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The SO's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Monitor and control access to the school, ensuring only authorized individuals enter the campus. Patrol school grounds and remain alert to suspicious activity, responding appropriately to incidents or emergencies. Maintain a visible, approachable presence while interacting professionally with students, staff, and visitors. Assist with traffic control during carline. Support emergency preparedness efforts, including drills and response procedures. Identify and report safety hazards or concerns to appropriate personnel. Respond to medical emergencies as needed. Ensure school property is secure, including locking doors and windows. Report any security breaches, damages, or theft. Conduct routine checks of buildings and access points. Complete daily activity logs and detailed incident reports. Maintain accurate and timely records of all actions taken. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.

Skills and Responsibilities

Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment. Prior security, law enforcement, or military experience is preferred. Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills. General knowledge of Apple, PC, and Microsoft Office applications Ability to work independently and as a member of a team with minimal supervision. Fluency in a second language in addition to English is preferred. Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations. Must be physically able to patrol the school grounds, respond to emergencies, stand for extended periods, and climb stairs. Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
