COMSEC ACCOUNT MANAGER
SpaceX is looking for a highly motivated and detail oriented COMSEC account manager to support the Government Security Programs team. The position involves COMSEC support to the government stakeholders while balancing the needs of the engineering team, operations, and mission management. This role is heavily focused on Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) usage for provisioning COMSEC units and maintaining strict accountability of newly provisioned assets. The position requires balancing government compliance with the needs of engineering, operations, and mission teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate extreme ownership, high attention to detail, and the ability to efficiently progress work orders efficiently while ensuring full compliance with all COMSEC standards for collateral, SCI, and SAP programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on communications security with deep expertise in KMI systems and government compliance
  • Work with program managers to develop and implement novel processes based on security policies to ensure compliance
  • Utilize KMI to provision COMSEC units, receive certificates/keys/SW packages, and account for all newly provisioned assets with rigorous attention to detail
  • Maintain accountability of all COMSEC assets for assigned COMSEC accounts
  • Maintain, in collaboration with program personnel, up to date keying records and COMSEC Requirements Letters for associated cryptonets
  • Develop and deliver security education and training regarding program security procedures including COMSEC security procedures
  • Assist in the development of COMSEC documentation, including but not limited to, SKMPs, COMSEC Protection Plans, and Transportation Plans
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for technical staff for questions on process, timeline, status of assets, and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with government requirements and regulations
  • Day-to-day support specific to internal programs and stakeholders

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 7+ years of security experience related to COMSEC management and compliance
  • 5+ years of experience as a COMSEC Manager supporting DoD, SAP or IC accounts
  • Active Top Secret SCI clearance

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information systems/IT, mathematics, physics, or similar technical discipline
  • Completed the TRADOC-approved Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) course and the COMSEC Account Manager Course (CAMC)
  • Familiarity with mission operations, satellite communications, or aerospace environments
  • Experience with supporting space launch operations and rapid development programs
  • Excellent problem solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Deep familiarity with COMSEC requirements and procedures including the acquisition, maintenance, operation, and disposition of related equipment
  • Experience with security policy and guiding documentation specific to COMSEC-related compliance
  • IAEC-2112 or NRO CRO Training
  • Knowledge of DIAS, iApp, KMI or other electronic management system

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to favorably complete a U.S. Government CI scope polygraph
  • An active clearance may provide the opportunity for you to work on sensitive SpaceX missions. If so, you will be subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing
  • Willingness to work extended hours or weekends as needed in support of mission-critical deadlines and milestones
  • Ability to travel in support of programmatic requirements to other SpaceX locations or customer sites

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
COMSEC Account Manager/Senior: $125,000.00 - $175,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Those with an active clearance will receive a 10% differential, up to an additional $20,000 annually, once officially briefed into a classified program.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Employees accrue paid sick leave pursuant to Company policy which satisfies or exceeds the accrual, carryover, and use requirements of the law.
