Ardurra is seeking a Survey CAD Technician to support our Survey Group's Oil & Gas projects in Corpus Christi, TX.
Ardurra is a multidisciplinary civil engineering services firm delivering practical, innovative solutions to public and private sector clients. Our Survey Group supports a diverse portfolio of work, with this role focused specifically on oil & gas and pipeline-related survey production, including well sites, pipeline alignments, and associated facilities.
This is a production-focused CAD role responsible for transforming field survey data into accurate, high-quality deliverables.
Primary Function
The Survey CAD Technician II performs intermediate-level drafting and production work to support survey projects within the oil & gas sector. This role works closely with Survey Party Chiefs, Project Surveyors, and Project Managers to process field data and produce precise drawings in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare survey drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D based on field data and survey notes
  • Process and import field data from data collectors (Trimble, Leica, etc.)
  • Develop:
    • Topographic surveys
    • Boundary exhibits
    • Pipeline alignment sheets and profiles
    • Well site layouts and as-builts
  • Apply correct linework, layering, symbology, and annotation standards
  • Perform basic surface modeling and contour generation in Civil 3D
  • Assist in preparation of plats, legal exhibits, and survey deliverables
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings
  • Coordinate with field crews to resolve discrepancies or missing data
  • Maintain organized project files and adhere to company CAD standards
  • Support revisions and updates based on redlines and project feedback

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Technical degree preferred)
  • 2-5 years of survey CAD experience, preferably in oil & gas or pipeline projects
  • Proficiency in:
    • AutoCAD Civil 3D
    • Survey data processing workflows
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Survey drafting principles and practices
    • Coordinate geometry (COGO) basics
    • Linework, layering, and annotation standards
  • Ability to interpret:
    • Field notes
    • Survey data
    • Engineering and pipeline plans
  • Strong attention to detail and production accuracy
  • Effective communication and ability to work in a team environment
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting pipeline, oil & gas, or energy infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with:
    • Right-of-way mapping
    • Alignment sheets and stationing
    • As-built and record drawing preparation
  • Experience with Trimble Business Center, Leica Infinity, or similar software
  • Understanding of survey standards related to oil & gas projects
