Description

We are looking for passionate individuals to help us deliver innovative, unique solutions to our Customers.
 
We are currently looking for CAD Designers to join our Design Services Team. This position is being offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract opportunity with GDLS-C. The hiring range for this position is $28.00-$35.00.
 
Key Job Elements:
  • Create solid models, layouts and associative assembly and detail drawings from sketches, notes or direction from senior designers or Project Engineers to stringent industry, company and military standards
  • Design mobile defense subsystems with minimal supervision utilizing NX CAD software integrated to the Teamcenter database
  • Perform design calculations and trade-off studies as required
  • Incorporate engineering change requests into existing Technical Data Package
  • Perform dynamic motion and interference analyses
  • Support Bid and Proposal activities by determining scope of work and preparing labour estimates, preparation of Basis of Estimates (BOE).
  • May be required to assist in the development of departmental processes, standards and related documentation
  • May be required to provide system-level CAD model/product structure support and administer working files for multiple design teams
  • May be required to develop standard parts and integrate these parts into the Teamcenter Classification database
Required Qualifications:
  • University degree or college diploma in Electrical or Mechanical field
  • Mechanical design experience utilizing CAD tools
  • Experience with NX CAD software in modeling, drafting and advanced assemblies (including experience received through school as applicable)
  • Strong knowledge of the application and interpretation of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) from piece parts to complex assemblies
  • Strong knowledge of drawing practices and standards
  • Demonstrated strength in MS Office applications
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with typical defense and/or mobile equipment standards (e.g. MIL-Specs, ASME standards, SAE standards, FMVSS, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Teamcenter Product Data Management application
  • OACETT certified Mechanical Technologist or Technician (CET) with specialty in mobile equipment
