Job Description:

  • Knowledge Based Engineer (KBE).
  • Responsibilities include creating CAD (Catia/NX) parametric math models for commodities using Knowledge Based Engineering template modeling techniques.
  • Position requires extensive knowledge of Catia/NX modeling and an extensive background developing / packaging / synthesizing complex vehicle systems.
  • Additional responsibilities include dictating architecture and construction techniques, creating master development / packaging / requirement sections, defining master template modeling structures, and training other Catia/NX engineers on modeling techniques, architecture.


Specific Description:

  • Utilize/Update parameters and standards of specific Engine systems & integrate them into CAD design templates.
  • Create Advanced Design for Fuel Tank / Cooling Bottles and Air Induction Systems along with Flexible parts analysis/envelopes using advanced methods


Main Activities:

  • Conceptual design for Air Induction - parametric studies while fulfilling design functional targets
  • Generate initial Fuel tank and Cooling reservoirs designs that meets design targets and perform specific performance analysis
  • Test supervision of above systems – as required
  • Understanding of Design to Manufacturing Best practices and guidelines
  • Competitive benchmarking studies
  • Create and maintain KBE design and analysis templates / requirements as standards change
  • Associative parametric modeling
  • CAD modeling and NX design templates automation capability
  • Simulate and generate deformed shape envelopes for Flexible parts, routing optimization (cooling/HVAC/brakes/steering hoses, LV/HV wiring, convolutes, etc.)


Requirements:

  • Specific prior design and engineering expertise for Engine systems - Air induction, Cooling, Fuel systems – overall vehicle Under hood design experience and understanding
  • Ability to understand and react to Multidisciplinary engineering fields
  • 5+ Years of CAD modeling with Siemens NX
  • 2+ Years of Robust Modeling with Siemens NX
  • 2+ Years of Parametric CAD Modeling with Siemens NX
  • 2+ Years of NX Product Template Studio and templates creation experience for process automation
  • 2+ Years Hands-on experience and understanding of automotive Engine Systems / Under hood design
  • FEA and Acoustics theoretical understanding and hands-on experience of an applicable CAE tool are a plus (i.e. for Air Induction systems design)
  • Strong English Speaking/Writing skills
  • Strong Engineering Design project presentation skills required
  • CATIA v5/v6 can be an option if Engine Systems engineering expertise is present


Preferred Skills:

  • 5+ Years of Engine Systems hands-on engineering / design experience
  • 5+ Years of CAD Parametric Modeling experience with Siemens NX
  • 2+ Years of NX SimCenter 3D (Motion, CFD/FloEFD, Nastran FEA or equivalent) and/or IPS Cable experience is a plus


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical)
