Job description

Landmark is a leading provider of engineering, construction, and asset management services for storage solutions in the water, wastewater, power, and industrial markets. We operate throughout North American and have built our reputation on delivering the most challenging projects with a high degree of efficiency and precision. We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Mechanical CAD Designer to join our team. The CAD Designer will work with multi-disciplined engineering, design, and project teams in developing design drawings utilizing AutoCAD and other related products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create, edit, and modify AutoCAD drawings based on design provided by engineers
  • Utilize annotation for clarification
  • Develop and read mechanical piping and steel structures as well as mechanical and shop drawings
  • Collaborate with engineers and shop and construction operations to meet fabrication and constructability requirements.

Typical Design will Consist of:

  • Mechanical and Steel Structure Layout Plans
  • Structural Specifications and Notes
  • Mechanical and Steel Structure Fabrication Drawings
  • Steel Connection Details
  • Assist with design tasks including structural modeling, detailing, bill of materials
  • Understand & meet project schedule, and quality requirements with accuracy and efficiency
  • Self-checks all work performed to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to internal review
  • Actively assist in the delivery of a complete project. This may include phone or e-mail correspondence, attending meetings, and other project documents required for project completion

Education:

  • Post Secondary Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience Required:

  • 5 or more years of relevant CAD drafting design

Qualifications Required:

  • High proficient use of Autodesk AutoCAD
  • Use of Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar 3D software is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and steel structural designs
  • Experience with mechanical piping, fittings, valves, steel structures, and sheet metals
  • Understanding of engineering principles and assembly, fabrication, and construction workflows
  • Knowledge of project management software and computer applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Organized team player able to work in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
