Micro-LAM, Inc., a rapidly growing local company, is seeking an organized, knowledgeable and goal-oriented individual to participate in its extremely dynamic internship program. The candidate will be involved in designing, prototyping and testing key components related to optics manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake and successfully complete product development tasks to include any of the following: writing and/or verifying specifications, maintaining product documentation, testing processes, and validating equipment and processes.
  • Be part of a team in inventing or creating concepts and designs for new products, processes and test methods.
  • Design, procure and fabricate simple tooling and fixtures.
  • Designs and performs engineering tests and experiments.
  • Prepare standard reports to communicate results to technical team.
  • Design parts on SolidWorks.
  • Prototype and test parts for current and future products.
  • Identify areas for improvement, suggest solutions and submit idea records.
Requirements
  • Students pursuing a bachelor's or graduate level degree in engineering will be considered
  • Position could continue throughout the schoolyear and into the summer semester on a part/full-time basis
  • Desire to get involved and participate with innovative ideas
  • Proficient in CAD (preferably SolidWorks)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge in machining, metal working, and quality control is a plus
  • Capable of working independently
  • Ability to multi-task and meet short deadlines
