Job description

Overview
SNAP-ON BUSINESS SOLUTIONS
(A group under RS&I Division of Snap-on Incorporated)
Location: Rochester Hills, MI
Work schedule: Monday - Friday 8a-5p, 5 days a week
Responsible for validating software and hardware products for the NEXIQ and Snap-on brands to ensure compliance with functional, performance, and customer requirements. Develop and execute product test plans and validation procedures that enable consistent and repeatable verification of product quality. Partner with software development teams to support application testing, database population, and overall product readiness throughout the development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
  1. Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
  2. Participate in project team meetings to understand validation requirements and support test planning activities.
  3. Analyze functional requirements and develop validation test plans.
  4. Execute test plans and document results.
  5. Identify, document, and communicate product defects and specification gaps to engineering teams.
  6. Develop installation and user support documentation for onboard systems.
  7. Provide field and customer installation support as required.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned which may include:
    1. ECU wiring / minor soldering work
    2. Procuring test vehicles
    3. Driving test vehicles to and from the office facility
    4. Cataloging and organizing test equipment

Qualifications
  1. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  2. 2+ years of experience in software, systems, or product validation/testing.
  3. Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, and validation procedures.
  4. Familiarity with vehicle communication protocols, onboard diagnostic (OBD) systems, and diagnostic tools.
  5. Experience identifying, documenting, and tracking software and hardware defects.
  6. Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
  7. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and common engineering or test management tools.
  8. Understanding of automotive and/or heavy-duty vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, brakes, and related control systems.
  9. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  10. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or willingness to obtain one preferred.
