Position: Body CAD Engineer
Location: Novi, Michigan
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Description & Skill Requirement:
  • Body CAD Engineer - Job Description

  • Develop and release body-in-white and exterior body components using 3D CAD across concept, design, and launch phases.

  • Create and maintain detailed CAD models, assemblies, sections, and 2D drawings in line with design standards.

  • Support design feasibility studies, packaging assessments, and engineering trade-offs.

  • Apply GD&T principles to ensure manufacturability, quality, and dimensional robustness.

  • Collaborate with CAE teams to address crash, durability, NVH, and structural requirements.

  • Support engineering changes, design updates, and configuration management in PLM systems.

  • Assist with prototype builds, virtual validation, and physical testing support.

  • Coordinate with manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams.

  • Ensure adherence to cost, weight, timing, and quality targets.
