***This position is for a Maintenance Technician (Mobile) in Calgary, Alberta***

About this role

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to support a portfolio of industrial properties. This is a hands-on maintenance and coordination-focused role responsible for routine inspections, preventive maintenance, minor repairs, tenant service requests, contractor coordination and general property maintenance.

A significant part of the role involves coordinating multiple contractors and service providers, attending site meetings, obtaining quotations, assisting with scopes of work and following up on outstanding work.

The successful candidate should have strong written and verbal communication skills, good organizational ability, practical mechanical aptitude and strong follow-through.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine building and equipment inspections, assigned preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting and minor repairs involving HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical and general building components.

  • Identify deficiencies or abnormal conditions, coordinate routine corrective work and escalate complex technical issues when required.

  • Respond professionally to tenant and Property Management maintenance requests.

  • Coordinate multiple contractors, arrange site access, attend contractor/site meetings and follow up on deficiencies and outstanding work.

  • Assist with preparing routine scopes of work, soliciting quotations and reviewing quotations with Operations staff.

  • Maintain accurate work orders and maintenance records using Yardi or other applicable systems.

  • Use DDC/BAS systems at a basic level to review temperatures, equipment status and alarms where applicable.

  • Maintain mechanical rooms, service areas and vacant spaces in a clean and safe condition.

  • Follow established health and safety requirements and support contractor compliance with site procedures.

  • Participate in the on-call rotation and perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring

  • 1-2 years of hands-on maintenance, facility maintenance, commercial/industrial property maintenance/operations, mechanical maintenance, construction maintenance or related experience preferred.

  • Experience coordinating contractors, trades or service technicians is strongly preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical and general building-maintenance systems.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic troubleshooting while recognizing when escalation is required.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including contractor communication and maintenance documentation.

  • Strong organization and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple contractors, work orders and priorities.

  • Basic computer skills; experience with Yardi, CMMS/work-order systems or DDC/BAS is an asset.

  • Valid Alberta driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

  • Ability to perform physical maintenance work, including lifting up to 40 lbs, and work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, warehouses and service areas.
