Computer System Technician Supervisor Jobs (NOW HIRING)

Involves the provision of integrated and accessible primary and specialty patient care services in a clinic or center environment. Care is provided by clinicians and assistants who are accountable for addressing a large majority of personal health care needs and developing a sustainable partnership with patients. Ensures optimal patient outcomes through effective leadership and / or provision of patient care delivery in healthcare clinics or centers. Promotes shared decision-making at all levels to ensure a shared voice in practices, exchange of ideas, enhanced communication, and continually improved patient services. Management levels may also be responsible for clinic operations. (Note, when primary focus is clinical operations, see Ambulatory Administration job function.)

Under general supervision of the Clinical Manager and guided by the policies and procedures of Ambulatory Services, the Technician Supervisor is responsible for the efficient organization and operation of all technical functions performed by ophthalmic technician and ophthalmic assistant personnel within the Department of Ophthalmology. This involves the provision of integrated and accessible primary and specialty patient care services in a clinic environment. The technician supervisor ensures optimal patient outcomes through effective leadership and / or provision of patient care delivery in healthcare clinics or centers. Promotes shared decision-making at all levels to ensure a shared voice in practices, exchange of ideas, enhanced communication, and continually improved patient services. 

The technician supervisor is responsible for daily clinic operations including supervision and assessment of technical duties and ensures compliance with all hospital policies and regulatory requirements. The Technician Supervisor monitors the quality of patient screening and workups, documentation, and communication with providers ensuring the quality of patient care delivery in assigned clinic(s) and serves as a role model. This position is responsible for technician hiring, orientation and training as well as scheduling, training, and implementation of new technologies within the full scope of clinical functions. Assists with the administration and management of personnel, fiscal, and material resources. This includes but is not limited to monitoring the facilities for patient and staff safety and initiating environmental or system improvements as needed. This role also supervises the maintenance of equipment, and monitoring and purchasing of supply chain. The Technician Supervisor consistently projects a professional and courteous demeanor and is required to comply with the Medical Center House and Telephone Standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Two years of leadership experience
• Demonstrated skills to effectively supervise technicians  and to manage the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with a clinic(s) / center(s). Strong knowledge of practice operations
• In depth knowledge of patient care clinical standards and care delivery, systems, external regulations, and internal policies
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and develop and apply effective solutions
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaborations and problem solving with all levels of management, staff, consultants, and outside agencies
• Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to train and mentor subordinates, and to convey complex clinical and technical information in a clear and concise manner
• Minimum 4 years' experience as an Ophthalmic Technician
• Previous supervisory experience in Academic or Large clinical practice
• Knowledge of Joint Commission requirements
• The ability to work with intermittent standing and sitting for 8-9 hours

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources issues and performance, and to participate in decision-making on human resources matters
• Strong knowledge of business software and specialized applications and data management systems used in clinic/center patient care

Education, Licenses and Certifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent combination of experience / training
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant ( COA) from  IJCAHPO
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification

Preferred:

• Certified Ophthalmic Technician  ( COT) from IJCAHPO
• Ophthalmic Photographers Society - Certified Retinal Angiographer ( CRA)
• Ophthalmic Photographers Society - Optical Coherence Tomography Certification ( OCT-C)
