Hatch is seeking an Infrastructure Co-op Student with interest in Civil Engineering, particularly utility design, for a 4-month internship starting January 2027. Reporting to a Senior Project Engineer in Hatch's Infrastructure sector you will support offices globally working with the Utility Group from our Mississauga office.

Responsibilities:

  • Support project managers, project engineers and designers in the preparation of detailed design for civil engineering infrastructure/utilities projects
  • Assist in CAD design of municipal infrastructure including Composite utility drawings, sewer, watermains, and other related work
    • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks for various infrastructure projects
    • Create/compile design models and drawings
    • Prepare design submissions and other technical documents
    • Coordination with other technicians and related disciplines to produce design deliverables
    • Provide assistance to Senior Engineers and Designers as and when needed

Education and Experience:

    • Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering Technology co-op program at an accredited College
  • Strong CAD skills, and experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D
  • Experience in MicroStation/OpenRoads is an asset
  • Experience in Utility/Drainage and Pipeline design such as developing infrastructure plans and profiles is an asset
  • Comfortable working in both 2D and 3D environments
  • Positive team attitude and approach, results oriented and ability to work independently
    • In good academic standing
    • Experience in development of project layouts and civil details using AutoCAD or Bentley programs is an asset
    • Extracurricular involvement is also considered an asset

Compensation: 

Range: $24.00 - $27.00
