Job description

Warehouse & Inventory Associate - Forklift

Kitchener, ON | Full-Time | Monday-Friday
$50,000-$55,000 per year

We are looking for an experienced warehouse professional with strong warehouse and inventory experience to join our Kitchener team.

The primary focus of this position is warehouse operations, inventory control and shipping/receiving. You will also provide backup delivery support and assist with equipment maintenance.

This is NOT an entry-level general labour position.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of recent warehouse experience
  • Inventory control experience
  • Experience with receiving, shipping, stocking and organizing products
  • Experience performing inventory counts and maintaining accurate stock levels
  • Comfortable loading and unloading shipments
  • Forklift experience is an asset; training can be provided for the right candidate
  • Mechanically inclined and comfortable working with tools and equipment
  • Reliable, organized and detail-oriented
  • Valid driver's licence and good driving record
  • Comfortable providing backup local delivery support when required

Warehouse and inventory experience are the primary requirements for this position.

Equipment & Maintenance

You do not need to be a mechanic but experience working with tools, machinery or mechanical equipment is an asset.

However, you should be hands-on and mechanically inclined and comfortable learning how to work with equipment.

Training will be provided to assist with basic equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs.

What You'll Do

Warehouse & Inventory - Primary Focus

  • Receive and put away incoming products
  • Pick, prepare and ship customer orders
  • Organize warehouse inventory and maintain accurate stock levels
  • Perform inventory counts and investigate discrepancies
  • Load and unload shipments
  • Operate a forklift safely once trained
  • Keep the warehouse clean, organized and safe
  • Maintain accurate inventory and shipping records

Equipment & Delivery Support

  • Assist with basic equipment maintenance and repairs after training
  • Identify equipment issues and report problems
  • Prepare products and equipment for delivery
  • Provide backup local delivery support when required
  • Represent the company professionally when dealing with customers

The Right Candidate

You are an experienced warehouse professional first.

You understand warehouse operations, know how to maintain accurate inventory and take pride in keeping a warehouse organized and running efficiently.

You are also hands-on, mechanically inclined and willing to learn.

Because you may occasionally interact with customers during deliveries, professional communication and a customer-service mindset are important.

Compensation & Schedule

  • $50,000-$55,000 per year
  • Monday-Friday
  • 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
  • 30-minute unpaid lunch
  • Full-time
  • Benefits package

Important

This position is intended for candidates with substantial warehouse and inventory experience.

Candidates whose experience is primarily general labour, truck driving/delivery, construction labour, retail or manufacturing production without significant warehouse and inventory responsibilities will not be considered.

Application Questions

  1. How many years of recent warehouse experience do you have?
  2. How many years of inventory control experience do you have?
  3. Do you have previous forklift experience?
  4. Describe your inventory experience, including receiving, stock control and inventory counts.
  5. How many jobs have you held in the last 5 years?
