Job description

Overview

Under the direction of the Chief Information Officer, the Senior Solutions Architect will be responsible for defining, designing, and leading Cavender’s enterprise solution architecture with a primary focus on integrations across all core business systems. This role serves as a key technical leader within IT, ensuring scalable, reliable, and secure connectivity across platforms including ERP, ecommerce, POS, HRIS, WMS, and data environments. The Senior Solutions Architect will partner closely with business and technology leaders to translate business needs into technical solutions, establish architecture standards, and drive modernization across Cavender’s technology landscape. This role also provides leadership and oversight to integration resources, ensuring operational excellence and long-term system stability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the “Cavender’s Culture” and drive the Mission, Vision and Values
  • Serve as the enterprise lead for solution architecture with a focus on integrations across all business systems
  • Own the design and architecture of Cavender’s integration ecosystem, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Lead design and implementation of integrations across ERP (D365), merchandising (Jesta), ecommerce, POS, 3PL and distribution systems, HRIS, and data platforms
  • Provide architectural oversight for middleware platforms such as Boomi, Azure Logic Apps, Service Bus, and related technologies
  • Partner with business and IT stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, long-term technical solutions
  • Establish and enforce enterprise architecture standards, integration patterns, and best practices
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and governance across all integrated systems
  • Drive modernization efforts including API-first architecture, event-driven design, and cloud-based integrations
  • Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex integration issues, ensuring long-term stability and optimization
  • Provide leadership and direction to integration team members, including oversight of integration support and development resources
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, Finance, Merchandising, Ecommerce, and Operations to deliver integrated solutions
  • Architect and support omnichannel data flows including BOPIS, ship-from-store, and inventory visibility across all channels
  • Ensure near real-time inventory synchronization across POS, ecommerce, and distribution systems
  • Support pricing and promotion propagation across all selling channels
  • Design and scale integrations to support store operations across a multi-location environment (200+ stores)
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors and partners to ensure alignment with Cavender’s standards and objectives
  • Support SOX ITGC compliance, security standards, and audit readiness across enterprise systems
  • Contribute to IT strategy and roadmap planning to support business growth and scalability
  • Mentor team members and promote best practices in architecture, integrations, and system design

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, enterprise systems, or systems integration
  • 5+ years of experience designing and supporting enterprise integrations and middleware platforms
  • Experience with integration technologies such as Boomi, Azure Logic Apps, APIs, Service Bus, or similar tools
  • Strong experience working with enterprise systems such as ERP, ecommerce platforms, POS, HRIS, and data platforms
  • Experience working within environments utilizing Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) for identity and access management
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines, preferably within Azure DevOps
  • Proven ability to design scalable, secure, and high-performing technical solutions
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, data flow, and system interoperability
  • Experience leading technical initiatives and providing architectural guidance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex system challenges
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Retail or multi-location business experience preferred

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Familiarity with data platforms such as Snowflake, Power BI, or similar tools
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance, ITGC controls, and enterprise governance
  • Experience with API management, microservices, and event-driven architecture
  • Certifications such as TOGAF, Azure Architect, or similar preferred
  • Experience building or scaling integration and architecture functions
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience supporting omnichannel retail environments and large-scale store operations
