Job Description
Title: pK-12 Computer Science Teacher Leader
Positions:
  • pK-12 Computer Science Teacher Leader

Qualifications:
  • Hold a valid New York State certification in the designated area of leadership position
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of curriculum and the instructional best practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an educational setting
  • Able to work effectively with a variety of staff and groups

Responsibilities: Shall include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Support the development and implementation of the district's PK-12 Computer Science curriculum, pathways, and initiatives.
  • Lead and participate in pilots and program reviews to evaluate new Computer Science instructional materials, software, and methods.
  • Gather feedback and information to assess department, grade-level, and secondary pathway needs.
  • Coordinate Computer Science resources, special events, or programs (e.g., guest speakers, Hour of Code).
  • Oversee the department budget and manage the ordering, provisioning, and distribution of Computer Science materials.
  • Assist teachers in the analysis, interpretation, and application of assessment and student performance data.
  • Attend identified training and professional development deemed appropriate by the administration.
  • Facilitate professional learning, including workshops, demonstrations, and targeted presentations for departments, buildings, or grade levels.
  • Provide input on district-based professional development, staff programs, and conference-day planning.
  • Serve as an instructional consultant for building teachers and participate in relevant district-level committees.
  • Meet monthly with the Director of 7-12 Instruction and other program teacher leaders, as necessary.
  • Communicate and share updates, data, and department initiatives at monthly building or department meetings.
  • Assist building administration with operational logistics, including master schedule development and the coordination, proctoring, and scoring of assessments.
  • Contribute to the hiring process by serving on designated interview committees.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all student, family, and staff information.
  • Fulfill general teacher leader responsibilities, as assigned.

Salary: As per the contract between Victor Central Schools and the Victor Teachers' Association
Terms of Employment:
The position of pK-12 Computer Science Teacher Leader is a ten-month position. The terms established in accordance with the contract between Victor Central Schools and the Victor Teachers' Association.
Evaluation:
Performance in this position will be evaluated annually by district administration.
